POSTER

Fineline Tattoo

We are tired of the Sailor Jerry, American traditional stereotype that we see time and time again when it comes to studio branding. With a studio packed full of creatives who are breaking boundaries in the industry, you would expect that their studio would be just as special, wouldn't you? That's why we set out to create this eccentric, inviting space for creatives in the Toronto area to tattoo. We are ready to tear down every stereotype, every boundary, and every critique that the industry faces. We are Fineline.

Nothing Shy About Us

Tattoos can be quite the eye-catcher, and as for many tattoo owners, they wear them with pride - happy to talk about their artwork. The branding holds true to that same sentiment of not holding back, as the choices made were to make the company feel bold and large. I paired vibrant, complementary colors together along with a bold display face to pack an extra punch. Using Bitmaps as super graphics helped add a layer to the branding and make it feel like the images were tattooed themselves.

Print Design

Tattoo artists are detail orientated people, yet I have felt like tattoo shops always lacked in the details. I wanted to make sure to include those in this brand, such as a branded aftercare card, to help make it feel special. Keeping the print design more tamed than the digital allowed for it to be more accessible to a wider audience.

Merchandise

Another thing I wanted to include was some 'swag' for the brand. Using the bitmaps of the artists' work, I was able to create unique merchandise for artists to sell to promote their studio and style while not just having the logo slapped on top.

Web Design

These are some examples of the web design above. The site is predominantly black and white, with added pops of color, appearing once hovered, to unveil a base layer to represent getting tattoos and adding color to yourself. I kept the site simple for comfort and ease of use in doing things such as booking appointments and browsing artists to book with.
